As an artist, Portuguese-American photographer-filmmaker Cristina Da Fonseca is creative and strict with her craft and direction. Through her lens, whether photoshoots, art galleries, live performances, or cover art always correctly display her unique skill. Being born and raised in Newark, NJ, her senior year at Arts High, being a fine arts major, she took a video production class, thus sprouting her love for photography. In 2016 Cristina joined fellow creative artist Livingston Steele starting as a background photographer for several independent projects in the studio and outdoor, which quickly grew into videography for music videos, web series, shorts, and documentaries to directing and video editing projects.

 From assistant directing the award-winning series, “The Theory of Brick City Music,” Fonseca has continued to learn and expand her knowledge in film/photography. In February 2019, she became a CMC resident at express Newark, located in downtown Newark’s famous Hanes building. Through this residency, she has been able to increase her editing time vastly, and her skill with the videos she has captured from live shows definitely benefits. As Fonseca hopes individuals viewing her art can grow the same compassion she has in the world, “Everything can be beautiful if looked at through the right lens!”
